Alejandro Toledo is an Argentinian-born composer and virtuoso saxophonist. His eclectic musical upbringing and unique performance practice have made him into one of the most prominent contemporary saxophonists in the world today. He has received numerous awards and has toured tirelessly, performing at a wide variety of international festivals, venues, and showcases.
In 2005 e graduated from McGill University (Canada) with a Bachelors Degree in Classical Music Performance, and received a Masters degree from SOAS, University of London, in Ethnomusicology in 2008. In 2013 he was awarded a Ph.D. in Music Performance from Goldsmiths, University of London for his thesis titled “World Music, Creative Reinterpretation, and the East Moldavian Roma Tradition”.
